I honestly haven't been impressed with a restaurant like this one in a while! Every bite was so good from all the seafood to the hushpuppies with sorghum butter. The service was quick and all food came out fast. I've had a lot of lobster rolls in CHS but this one may be my favorite. We will definitely be back. Great place to recommend to people for a Charleston seafood experience.

We quickly got seated at 4 for the happy hour at the oyster bar where you can see them shucking and prepping all the oysters. Food was fast and delicious. The creole shrimp was a favorite with the mustard adding a unique flavor to the dish. Shrimp and all seafood was fresh too. I loved the perky sea cups but I like them a bit more salty. The James river oysters are $1 each during HH which is def a good deal. The hush puppies with the sorghum butter is a great top off dessert or side with the lobster roll. We would come back again for the kind service, fast fresh food, and vibes

Service was primo, drinks were perfect, food was excellent. I had the blue crab pasta, as did the lady at the adjoining table, and it was delicious. Husband had diver's scallops and they were also wonderful. Room was tasteful and welcoming. Highly recommend!

I've stopped into the Darling for drinks in the past and always enjoyed the place and while I still haven't done full dinner, I did get to try the french fries smothered in clam chowder. These fries are reason enough to drop what you're doing and go right now. They bring out a platter of house cut fries and a gravy boat of clam chowder with crispy bacon on top. Then they pour the glorious chowder all over the fries for your dining delight. It's the perfect cold weather snack to share with a friend.

Great food. We made reservations but were able to be seated early. Service was great. The restaurant wasn't too loud either. We went in the earlier side of the dinner rush so it wasn't too busy/loud. Definitely recommend.

Stopped in for drinks and was so happy to see Pisco on the menu! It might be my favorite liquor. The service was quick and as busy as they were , they kept track of our bill and we didn't need to wait long. Drinks were excellent and I would stop by again.

I have been dying to visit The Darling for sometime and it was absolutely worth the wait! The staff was friendly and the place itself looks awesome. (Even their little merch cabinet was cute!) We sat at the community high top facing the raw bar and had the best time. We ordered a flight of oysters (pictured with the menu) and a couple of drinks. I'm not a fan of crabby any means and the crab cakes were delicious! I haven't stopped thinking about them and we visited last week. 10/10 recommend whether you're new or a local that's bene curious about the spot. My boyfriend and I are looking forward to coming back for another tasty experience.

The Darling had come highly recommended, so I made a reservation weeks in advance. When we arrived, we were seated in the smaller dining section, away from the main area and bar. Unfortunately, this was less cute than the main section, but still comfortable. For drinks, I got a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, which I really liked. My boyfriend and I ordered a few starters to share - the Mussels & Gator Sausage and two varieties of the Baked Oysters. The Mussels & Gator Sausage were really tasty, especially the sauce! We ended up asking for more grilled bread, so the remaining sauce wouldn't go to waste. Probably the most memorable dish of the night! The Baked Oysters were also pretty unique. Out of the Maitre'd Butter & Bread Crumbs and Pimento & Sourdough Soppers, the second one was my favorite, but we enjoyed both. For entrees, I chose the Lobster Roll and my boyfriend got the Creole Shrimp. The sauce with the Creole Shrimp was flavorful, and he really liked this dish. My Lobster Roll was good, but not the best of my life. I liked the generous amount of lobster, but wasn't crazy about the celery chunks. For my side, I chose Hush Puppies with sorghum butter, and these were awesome. The texture of the Hush Puppies was perfect and they went so well with the sweetness of the butter. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall, pretty good!

The Darling is as good as it was when I visited 4+ years ago! I sat at the oyster bar, which is first come first serve. The food and service were phenomenal. I believe our waiter's name was Zach, and he seemed like such a nice, genuine guy & gave us great service. There is only indoor seating, but there are quite a few options from the small room in the entrance to the bar to the oyster bar to the main area. The oysters were delicious. The oyster menu changed, so my old favorites from 4 years ago were no longer there. My new favorite was the James River from Chesapeake, VA. 2nd place was Duchies from RI. Dukes from Topsail, NC was also delicious. The lobster roll was phenomenal, as always. Definitely recommend the Darling.
